ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT 

The Carrboro Police Department protects the citizens, businesses and properties within the municipal limits of the Town of Carrboro by providing committed law enforcement officers and community services that foster a safe living environment in our community.

Our headquarters are located in the heart of downtown Carrboro in the landmark Century Center Building at 100 N. Greensboro St.

Our department employs 43 people (including 39 full-time, sworn law enforcement officers) functioning in various roles within the department.

We are equipped to respond to emergency and non-emergency situations 24-hours a day, 7-days a week, 365-days a year. We have uniform patrol officers, investigators, community services officers, school resource officers and program support staff who work tirelessly to help make our department and community a better, safer place to live and work!

CALLING 911

In an emergency or life-threatening situation: CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY!

Carrboro Police officers are typically dispatched through Orange County Communications, our 911 call center. Do not hesitate calling 911 if your situation requires the immediate response of a police officer.

While calling 911 can be intimidating, if you need any type of police assistance, call 911. This is the quickest and most effective way for officers to assist you.
