New! Accepting Applications Now

Applications due February 25, 2022 @ 5:00 PM

The Orange County HOME Consortium (the County and the Towns of Carrboro, Chapel Hill, and Hillsborough) is now accepting applications for the FY 2022-2023 HOME Program.  The County anticipates approximately $470,000 will be available for awards.

Orange County's HOME funding applications are accepted once a year and are reviewed by the Orange County HOME Consortium Committee, known as the Local Government Affordable Housing Collaborative. Each year, Orange County receives funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) provides formula grants to communities to fund a wide range of affordable housing activities including building, buying, and/or rehabilitating affordable housing for rent or ownership; providing down payment assistance to home buyers; and providing tenant-based rental assistance.

Please visit the HOME Program webpage for more information, and to apply through the online application portal.
